Genesis 1:26-27 (KJV) states that God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created He them.”

Psalm 139:13-14 (NLT) – You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mothers womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous and how well I know it.

Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) – We are His Workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (NLT) – For we are God’s Masterpiece, He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

We all at times in life have worried about our self-image. Where does self-image come from? There are two main sources – words that have been spoken over us and actions that people have  done for or against us. Both have helped to shape who we are.

When you were a child, if you had parents who spoke well of you, believed in you, and did things to help promote success in your life, you are probably a person who is happy most of the time. But, if you were brought up in a home where your parents or other family members constantly put you down and perhaps abused you it is likely you have what is characterized as low self-esteem. Many times it was not just parents, it could have been other authority figures such as teachers, ministers, grandparents, aunts and uncles who spoke lies to you. These voices you heard were not of God.

So often voices in your head were like a song on repeat and every time you attempted to pursue a task or venture, you would hear those negative voices echoing through your mind telling you that you would never succeed at anything. Many people are hindered by the lies of the enemy. The devil has worked tirelessly to destroy any sense of self-esteem and blocking any hope for happiness, but the Word of God reveals to us what God did for us and what “He” says we are in Christ Jesus.

Because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the Word of God we can now obtain the correct image of ourselves, in Christ.

I Corinthians 6:19 (KJV) – What? Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. God loves you so much that He lives inside of you (His Tabernacle). So every lie that has been spoken over you could not have come from God. We are God’s BOM.COM

In the Hebrew text, the word “Fearfully” means a variety of good things: with great reverence and heartfelt interest, and respect.

The word “Wonderfully” means to be unique, set apart, and uniquely marvelous.

The Psalmist realized that God used great love and concern in creating each of us to be different and special.

We are trul“His Masterpiece”!

In the Greek, the word ‘poiema’ means workman-ship, and relates to a piece of artwork produced by an artist. We get our English word ‘poem’ from this same word ‘poiema’.

Our individual characteristics that God has selected for each of us are like a Poem in Motion.
